It comes down to your personal preference! Staying on Tybee Island is great if you want a casual, laid-back stay close to the island with golf cart cruising. Staying in Downtown Savannah is ideal if you want historic architecture, boutique luxury hotels, and vibrant city dining. The two areas are separated by a 20–25 minute drive along Highway 80.
While some vacation rental homes allow pets, dogs are strictly prohibited on all Tybee Island beaches under local ordinance to protect coastal wildlife. Strict fines apply, so plan pet walks accordingly in parks or neighborhoods.
